About the Author
W. Otie Kilmer, Aia, is a professor of interior design at Purdue University. He has taught drawing and design for over thirty years as well as practiced architecture and interior design with several internationally known firms. The Kilmers head their own design practice, Kilmer and Associates.
Rosemary Kilmer, Asid, Idec, Leed Ap, is a professor of interior design at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. She has served on the board of directors for NCIDQ (the qualifying exam for interior designers) and is a professional member of ASID and IDEC.

Good reference book

Good beginners reference book for those new to manual drafting (who manual drafts anymore?) or reading construction docs. It's a good starter/supplement to in-class instruction. One thing I noticed is the line weights & methods of depicted certain things in the example drawings are not always consistent, but as explained by my instructor that's bc there are some things that are not hard "rules" in drafting. I use it for the info given in the text. I've read quite a few construction docs but never put together my own set so this was helpful. It probably won't be in my library past college, but for now it is a go-to book

This is a good textbook for learning how to hand draft--I took a drafting class from the author's husband.
Some of the information isn't as clear as it could be so if you are just beginning to learn how to draft I would supplement this with another drafting textbook.

A very poor publication method. A few chapters had the pages out of order so it made it very difficult to read.
